It takes a true Southern Belle to match wits and yee-haws with Bo and Luke Duke, so Nikki Griffin’s southern roots came in handy when she tried out for the role of the girl caught between the bootleggin’ brothers in the theatrical version of The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and raised in cities ranging from Frankfurt, Germany, to Wilmington, North Carolina, Nikki started modeling when she was just ten years old. She was represented by Wilhelmina Ford Kids whiling modeling in New York City, stopped growing as a young teen and never reached runway model height. Nikki switched to acting instead, and Mr. Skin is certainly glad that she did! After moving to Los Angeles she landed bit parts on television series such as Dawson’s Creek (1999), Dr. Vegas (2004), and Jack & Bobby (2004), as well as an uncredited turn in the Jessica Biel vehicle Summer Catch (2001). Nikki got her big break as Jess, the girl who gets high on X and falls face down into a pool, on The O.C. (2006), a role that recurred over two seasons. But it was her role as Katie Johnson in The Dukes of Hazzard that propelled Nikki into the national limelight. Mr. Skin especially liked the limelight that illuminated topless Nikki in bed with Johnny Knoxville (and, likewise, topless Jacqui Maxwell) in the DVD special features.
